Make a Bequest

A bequest to the Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc. (Foundation House) is a meaningful way to make a lasting contribution to the work we do with people from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds.

A bequest to Foundation House could be a specific amount of money, a proportion of your Estate, the residual of your Estate, or other specific property.

Bequests are managed by our Finance Department. If you wish to make a bequest to Foundation House, or to honour or commemorate a named individual, we are available for a confidential discussion and to provide assistance. Please email Finance or phone (03) 9389 8900.

How to make a bequest to Foundation House

We invite you to make a notified bequest in your Will. You can do this by:

• Seeking professional advice from your solicitor or financial adviser in arranging a bequest
• Writing a letter to Foundation House advising of your intention to make a bequest
• Providing a copy of the relevant extract from your Will
• Forwarding a letter of confirmation from your solicitor

We suggest including the following text in your Will:

To bequeath a specific sum:

• I give to the Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc. 4 Gardiner Street, Brunswick, Victoria 3056 (ABN 52 783 974 656), to be used to continue the work of supporting refugees to Australia who have experienced torture and trauma in their country of origin or while fleeing, free of all duties the sum of $XX for which an authorised receipt from VFST Inc will be a sufficient discharge for the executor(s) or trustee

To give a percentage of your Estate

• I give to the Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc. 4 Gardiner Street, Brunswick, Victoria 3056 (ABN 52 783 974 656), to be used to continue the work of supporting refugees to Australia who have experienced torture and trauma in their country of origin or while fleeing, free of all duties XX% of my residuary estate for which an authorised receipt from VFST Inc. will be a sufficient discharge for the executor(s) or trustee

To donate the residue of your Estate:

• I give to the Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc. 4 Gardiner Street, Brunswick, Victoria 3056 (ABN 52 783 974 656), to be used to continue the work of supporting refugees to Australia who have experienced torture and trauma in their country of origin or while fleeing., free of all duties the whole of the residue of my estate for which an authorised receipt from the Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc. will be a sufficient discharge for the executor(s) or trustee
