End of Financial Year Appeal
Bright Minds. Bright Future.
5 June 2019
Foundation House has launched its End of Financial Year Appeal , with every dollar raised to be directed to the Quentin Buckle Study Grant , which supports people of refugee backgrounds to undertake or continue education in their chosen field.
Many people from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds encounter barriers accessing education or training during initial settlement, particularly financial.
Each year, the Quentin Buckle Study Grant transforms lives by providing recipients with up to $5,000 to pursue their studies.
‘Education empowers people and transforms lives and Foundation House is passionate about supporting our clients to build a bright future for themselves,’ Lynne Haultain, Chair of Foundation House’s Board of Management said.
The Quentin Buckle Study Grant was established in 2007 to honour the legacy of one of Foundation House’s founding members, and his lifelong commitment to human rights advocacy, community and social justice. Grants of up to $5,000 are awarded each year at the Foundation House end of year celebration with up to eight grants created each year. Nominations are considered by a panel comprising Foundation House Board members and senior staff. For further information, please contact Siobhan O’Mara on (03) 9389 8900.
