In response to COVID-19, Foundation House Professional Development and Learning is now providing the same engaging professional learning you have come to expect from us, in an accessible online format.
All our workshops during this period will be live and interactive, provided via Zoom. We will present a combination of informational and interactive sessions, with opportunity to ask questions and share experience and resources. Frequent breaks and off-screen activities will also be scheduled.

Understanding and working with suicidality: 11 June
Recognising the complex and diverse circumstances facing people from refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds, this workshop will explore a range of considerations and responses the practitioner requires to understand and effectively support clients who are at risk of suicide or other self-harm.

Communities and trauma: supporting recovery from collective trauma: 25 June
Refugee and asylum seeking experiences tear at the social fabric tying people together. This workshop will explore some of the potential far-reaching impacts of collective trauma for communities in the resettlement context, and potential recovery processes. This workshop will comprise a panel of speakers, including members from refugee backgrounds.
