Ucan2 launches new promotional videos

10 April 2018

Our CEO, Paris Aristotle AO is proud to announce the launch of our Ucan2 promotional videos.

Produced by Foundation House, the videos outline the impact of the program on refugee background young people and key partners, by hearing directly from them about their Ucan2 experiences.

The Ucan2 program supports the social inclusion of recently arrived young people of refugee background, aged 16-25. Ucan2 provides access to and engagement in education, training and employment pathways, mental health and wellbeing support, and social networks and connections.

Ucan2 was developed and is delivered through a collaborative partnership between Foundation House, Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) and AMES Australia .The program runs for 16 consecutive weeks, one day per week, in an education setting delivering on-arrival English language programs.

Foundation House CEO, Paris Aristotle AO, said, “Ucan2 is an exceptional program of support for young people of refugee backgrounds making the transition to their new life in Australia.

“It uses a wellbeing and strength-based approach to help participants learn about themselves and their past trauma.

“The Ucan2 program helps to improve English language skills, to build confidence and to strengthen social networks.

“Ucan2 supports engagement in vocational training and employment and assists teachers to meet the needs of young refugees.

“The video presentations of how three wonderful young participants benefitted from Ucan2 are inspirational and provide a glimpse into the true potential of all young people making Australia their new home.”
